This is a blog created and posted by Robyn to keep friends and family updated on the family. While the focus appears to be mostly on Jackson, there is no favorites in my life. I love all my family. It is just easier to get pictures of a young one.

FIRST TOOTH
Jackson's first tooth finally broke through the skin!! And as Emily felt into his mouth it feels like there are 3 more about to come through. It is amazing how each child develops and learns at different rates. A friend of mine has a boy 2 months older than Jackson and he has 8 teeth but is just starting to crawl. Or Emily's friends with girls a month older will wave intentionally bye-bye or clap while Jackson just flexes and tightens up while holding his breath (I am trying to get this on film).

Catching Up
Well, today I was kindly reminded by Diane that I have been slacking on the updates - last one being 7/25. So here we go.
At 7 months Jackson began to figure out crawling and within 1 week he mastered it and immediately started to learn standing. He now takes the 1 step up on the step down from the dining room to the family room without thought. After a couple of falls, he quickly learned that there is a depth difference for getting down, will stop at the edge and feel down. Twice over the weekend he actually laid onto his belly and then just pulled himself forward and down. Well, now that he has mastered crawling and pulling himself up to stand, he discovered the freezer drawer with the popsicles!! he is actually on his tippy toes in this shot!
Here is a short video of him crawling and talking . . . yes my camera phone was a different angle, just haven't figured how to rotate a video.
- LOGAN: Last weekend Logan and his friend Stephen (seen in the prom pictures) officially moved into their door room at MSU - GO SPARTANS. First day of classes was today and per Logan's text it was "not too bad". Logan was working this summer helping with landscaping. This is how he claims he got the poison ivy on his legs :)
- GRANT: starts his senior year at Grand Ledge next week. He has had his senior pictures taken at Bridge Street Studio (can see 3 proofs on http://www.bridgestreetstudio.com). Fall ball starts soon (maybe has already started). Grant also worked in landscaping but didn't run into poison ivy.
- JACKSON: celebrates his 8 months on friday. Still no teeth, lots of drooling though. More hair with some crazy curls on top. He LOVES baths, the cats, his grandma, his grandpa, going shopping, being thrown in the air, and hanging out at Uncle Steve's. He also loves this elephant! I am waiting for the day I find him asleep on the elephant. This pictures shows how big his hands are too.
Before he learned to crawl, Jackson would play on the floor and just stop and pose. Emily was able to get this shot with her camera on her phone.

trying to get a shot of him doing this thing where he stiffens up and flexes when he is excited and of him furniture walking.

Baseball weekend
Friday and Saturday Jackson and I went to watch Grant play baseball for the Colt league tourny. Friday night Grant got 2 homeruns, back-to-back. Once the balls were retrieved they gave them to Sue. In this picture, Aunt Sue was holding Jackson up behind Logan and Jackson loved the feeling of Logan's hair. I tried to get a shot where he is going toward Logan's head with a wide open, drooling mouth but the timing wasn't right.
Saturday's game was in the afternoon. They played against the other Grand Ledge team which was weird for Steve as it was mostly the guys he coached on the freshmen team this past school season. Grant pitched the first 3 innings and they mercied them 14 - 0.
After the game, Jackson and I stopped at Ukai to visit Emily then did some shopping at Walmart. Once home he was just full of babbling . . . which he started last Sunday. Was cracking me up! Then got cranky, gave him a jar of fruit but he was still fussing so I got up to make a bottle, when done I look over and he was falling asleep in the highchair!!! Once I got my cell phone to take this picture he was passed out!!! I had to hold his head up while removing the tray.

First Mom2Mom
Emily, Mom and I did our first Mom2Mom sale today. Emily had everything in baggies, premarked. She was so good as a sales person too. Asking what they were looking for and helping them find them. She knew every item. She made over $400 and spent a little over $40. It was a good experience. And in a great venue . . . the old Burlington Coat Factory so there was plenty of room between rows and sellers. Room for people to really look through things.

Grand Slam Grant!!
Last week Tuesday, a VERY hot day, I finally got to see Grant hit a grand slam home run!!!! Of course I cheered . . . loudly! Grant text me that he got another homerun (not a grand slam) today at CMU, about 400ft!! Unfortunately they didn't win though.
