Black Friday!!!

So, Emily and I had a game plan. Jackson spent the night at the Grandparents. We knew we were going to Walmart then Menard and then Lowes with others to hit in no planned order. Watched a movie (Emily slept about 4 hrs, I got only 30 minutes) then up at midnight to see if the big things could be ordered on line for Walmart. . . no such luck. Amber called Em around 12:45 saying a friend told her there were a lot of people already lining up at the pallets at Walmart. So Emily ran up there to check it out and scope things. She came back and we went ahead and went 30 minutes earlier than planned . . . 1:30a.m. The $298 laptop was already "sold out" so we both stood in line, with our tickets, for the $398 laptops . . . one for me and one for her as a Christmas gift from the family. Luckily there were a few fun people to talk to. At one point, Em snuck out of the ropes and see things out on the floor (we weren't suppose to) and the worker at the 46" Bravia that I wanted told her to still go to that area after 5am, when we got the laptops and could leave. So, we got the laptops, Em went to the TV while I went to a Camera for a friend. Em comes back with the ticket to buy my TV!!!! Then the long wait in the check out. Then out in the bitter cold and were one lane off from where we parked and took about 3 minutes to find Sue's van (actually thought for a split second that Steve came out and moved it).
Then to the insanity at Menards: Dropped Em off at the door, drove around to find a parking spot, found her in the store, took the cart, went in checkout line while she went and found more. Then she waited in line while I left with the van, picked up the TV behind Walmart, got McDonald's, unloaded the van at home then back to Menards where Em was still waiting in line.

Then Lowes: In and out
Then BabiesRUs: while there called some Meijer to see if they had any of the Fischer Price Learning Puppy . . . nope. So off to Sears, Sam's and lastly Target. 12:30 to Mom's to get the Punkin and home.

Took a 1 hr nap with Jackson then he and Em went to a 1 year old birthday party and I went to see Old Dogs with Mom and Dad.

Long, productive day . . . NO REGRETS.

Thanksgiving at the Householder's

Thanksgiving was at Mom and Dad's, as tradition. Emily cooked the ham at our place and we took it over. We were the last to arrive too :( Sue's Mom joined us as she is family too (and invited every year, every holiday). After dinner were the traditional Eukre competition of Steve and Logan against Dad and I. We were the winners this year. Then the traditional game of Aggravation. It is always Grant and I as a team but our opponents very. This year was Dad and Emily. G and I remain the champs. Dad likely blames the fact that his big green marble is missing. Jackson had his first bits of turkey, mashed potato and mashed yams . . . and I believe pumpkin pie too.

Friday, Emily, Jackson and I went to Tanger outlet in Howell for the day. It was sprinkling at times so if we had to cross when it was we put the stroller top over Jackson. Didn't take him long to realize he could push it back up and pull it down, then back up, etc. TOO CUTE

MSU family

Honestly, not sure when this picture was taken (copied off Steve's Facebook page) but I am assuming it was Oct 17th at the homecoming game and Grant's birthday. In order, left to right, Sue, Logan, Grant, Steve, Amber Future Spartan fan
Had Jackson's 9 month pictures done (at basically 10 months) with just one outfit but he was so darn cute it blew the plan of getting the cheap, basic package

Pumpkin time

This was earlier in the day. Emily also got a shot with her phone and sent to me at work. Jackson's first pumpkin . . .
"Here Mama, let me help"

Cute right? only lasted about 30 seconds.

Big Boy

Jackson has gotten standing independently down and has taken independent steps but wouldn't say he is "walking" yet. He has mastered getting down from the step up into the dining room from the living room and now let's Emily put him down for bed without having to put him to sleep first. Max fuss time is 6minutes.

Last weekend was midnight madness at MSU. Of course the boys went and Grant just spent the night in Logan's dorm room then up for the homecoming game which was also Grant's 17th birthday. That night we all met at Applebee's for dinner. Jackson is holding one of his favorite toys . . . yes an elephant but get this . . . it is actually a dog toy!!!
Jackson's first bubble bath was Wednesday night. Took him awhile to even notice them.

Emily went into the bathroom, hears a banging noise and comes out to see this!! Jackson was banging on the wardrobe while standing on this toy chair!! She got 3 pictures and the camera is slow between frames. We have a climber.

craigs list purchase

A few months ago I found this on Craig's list, emailed immediately and an hour later was in my car with $25 to go get it!! Jackson and Em were in Kalamazoo for dinner at a friends new restaurant and they both got excited when they came home and saw it! Of course, Jackson mostly tries to eat the tuff of "hair" on the top of the head. I consider this to be one of my great buys on Craig's list! The other is a mini-frig, stainless steel front, single dent, in the garage with the primary purpose of storing Dad's Rootbeer . . . $30!!

Jackson's day with cousin Amber

spent some time at cousin Amber's apartment while Momma was at the dentist
This table is just like my Momma's . . . but Momma and Aunt Robyn don't have these fun things!

Wait for it, wait for it . . . where is the "Jackson No"
Hummmmm, didn't hear "No" with the remote, what about the TV?!

Two balls just for me to play with!!!!! Somebody loves me :)

FIRST TOOTH

Jackson's first tooth finally broke through the skin!! And as Emily felt into his mouth it feels like there are 3 more about to come through. It is amazing how each child develops and learns at different rates. A friend of mine has a boy 2 months older than Jackson and he has 8 teeth but is just starting to crawl. Or Emily's friends with girls a month older will wave intentionally bye-bye or clap while Jackson just flexes and tightens up while holding his breath (I am trying to get this on film).

Catching Up

Well, today I was kindly reminded by Diane that I have been slacking on the updates - last one being 7/25. So here we go.

  • LOGAN: Last weekend Logan and his friend Stephen (seen in the prom pictures) officially moved into their door room at MSU - GO SPARTANS. First day of classes was today and per Logan's text it was "not too bad". Logan was working this summer helping with landscaping. This is how he claims he got the poison ivy on his legs :)
  • GRANT: starts his senior year at Grand Ledge next week. He has had his senior pictures taken at Bridge Street Studio (can see 3 proofs on http://www.bridgestreetstudio.com). Fall ball starts soon (maybe has already started). Grant also worked in landscaping but didn't run into poison ivy.
  • JACKSON: celebrates his 8 months on friday. Still no teeth, lots of drooling though. More hair with some crazy curls on top. He LOVES baths, the cats, his grandma, his grandpa, going shopping, being thrown in the air, and hanging out at Uncle Steve's. He also loves this elephant! I am waiting for the day I find him asleep on the elephant. This pictures shows how big his hands are too.

Before he learned to crawl, Jackson would play on the floor and just stop and pose. Emily was able to get this shot with her camera on her phone.

At 7 months Jackson began to figure out crawling and within 1 week he mastered it and immediately started to learn standing. He now takes the 1 step up on the step down from the dining room to the family room without thought. After a couple of falls, he quickly learned that there is a depth difference for getting down, will stop at the edge and feel down. Twice over the weekend he actually laid onto his belly and then just pulled himself forward and down. Well, now that he has mastered crawling and pulling himself up to stand, he discovered the freezer drawer with the popsicles!! he is actually on his tippy toes in this shot!

Here is a short video of him crawling and talking . . . yes my camera phone was a different angle, just haven't figured how to rotate a video.

trying to get a shot of him doing this thing where he stiffens up and flexes when he is excited and of him furniture walking.

Baseball weekend

Friday and Saturday Jackson and I went to watch Grant play baseball for the Colt league tourny. Friday night Grant got 2 homeruns, back-to-back. Once the balls were retrieved they gave them to Sue. In this picture, Aunt Sue was holding Jackson up behind Logan and Jackson loved the feeling of Logan's hair. I tried to get a shot where he is going toward Logan's head with a wide open, drooling mouth but the timing wasn't right. Saturday's game was in the afternoon. They played against the other Grand Ledge team which was weird for Steve as it was mostly the guys he coached on the freshmen team this past school season. Grant pitched the first 3 innings and they mercied them 14 - 0.

After the game, Jackson and I stopped at Ukai to visit Emily then did some shopping at Walmart. Once home he was just full of babbling . . . which he started last Sunday. Was cracking me up! Then got cranky, gave him a jar of fruit but he was still fussing so I got up to make a bottle, when done I look over and he was falling asleep in the highchair!!! Once I got my cell phone to take this picture he was passed out!!! I had to hold his head up while removing the tray.

First Mom2Mom

Emily, Mom and I did our first Mom2Mom sale today. Emily had everything in baggies, premarked. She was so good as a sales person too. Asking what they were looking for and helping them find them. She knew every item. She made over $400 and spent a little over $40. It was a good experience. And in a great venue . . . the old Burlington Coat Factory so there was plenty of room between rows and sellers. Room for people to really look through things.

Coolness runs in the family

Emily dropping Jackson off at Grandma's. Believe it or not but he actually leaves the glasses on!

Cart Cover

Today at Target Emily and I used the cart cover I bought at a craft show . . . yes those are elephants. He LOVED it After awhile he was hungry so we had him leaning on a blanket in the cart. It was sooooo cute how he was leaning on his arm, face in hand, just drinking away.
Unfortunately, just as he was finishing the 6oz, he spude about 2oz back out. Glad the cart cover was there to hold it!

Grand Slam Grant!!

Last week Tuesday, a VERY hot day, I finally got to see Grant hit a grand slam home run!!!! Of course I cheered . . . loudly! Grant text me that he got another homerun (not a grand slam) today at CMU, about 400ft!! Unfortunately they didn't win though.

Thanks Diane

This is one of the many toys from Nathan and Nicholas. Several have already been used.

Ooops,

Here is a picture from the open house that I thought I had in the earlier posting. This is some of Sue's family: brother Don, an Aunt, brother-in-law Jim, Mom. In the back is soon to be niece-in-law, sister Sandy, Niece-in-law (after tomorrow: sorry, don't remember her name for sure. Think it's Allison), sister-in-law Sandy and nephew Michael (who is marrying Allison)

Jackson and his Granparents

First picture of Jackson and Grandpa. It's a reflexion in the mirror. Ready for his first mow!

Open House - June 20th

Steve painted the grill green with a white spartan S on the sides.

Howdy Partna (Uncle Barry's hat)

Grandpa, Dad, Uncle Barry, Aunt Sharon and cousin Kim

This was at about 7pm and Logan was eating his first hamburger

What did Brandon do to warrant his arrest???

Did he come without a card?
Eat all of the hamburgers or hot dogs?
Drank Steve's last beer?

No, he ate Logan's face!!!!

Logan's 18th - CORRECTION

I failed to include everyone in attendance for the birthday dinner . . . Grant was also there. Sorry Grant.

18th birthday

We celebrated Logan's 18th birthday at Logan's Roadhouse. In attendance was Grandma Householder, Grandpa Householder, Aunt Robyn, cousin Jackson, Amber (with Chad and Kaiden), Mom, Dad, Stephen, Brandon and Anna. this is the only clear shot with Logan. There was one though were Brandon cut Logan's steak into bite size pieces for him! Can always count on Brandon!

GRADUATION 06-05-09

Grand Ledge Comets, class of 2009. Ceremony was held at the Breslin Center at MSU. It was sooooo long (2.5 hours). Luckily cousin Jackson was good. Thanks to Logan's shoulder sling it was easy to find him in the group (I was the first to spot him, but it was after he was at the front of the stage: his seat). Looks like he needed Brandon's help to find us though.
What a great smile!Looks like they were happy the ceremony was over!!! Not sure what to think about the big pucker there on Brandon . . .
The proud parents and "little" brother. Hopefully Grant is done growing because according to Steve that grown on Logan will be on Grant next year!!!!
Logan and Grandma Schueller.
Grandma Householder, Grandpa Householder, Aunt Robyn and Jackson were also in attendance but by that time Jackson was SCREAMING, so we had enough time to give a hug and leave. Of course Anna was there as well. Funny that there is Ashley in the background (family friends from church).
